There is one simple word to describe Osamu Yokonami’s work: Creepy. They look like stills from a very summery, contemporary horror movie; where young school girls get taken over by unidentified spiritual forces at the beach. Ok, went little bit too far there! Anyway, we always think images should tell stories and should be at least a little bit dreamy, so there you go.. Istanbul is usually known for it’s history, it’s contrasts and obviously it’s food. With the city’s unique personality and position, the diversity between east and west has influenced a lot of creatives through out the years. Lately Istanbul has started to pay a lot more attention to creative arts, including fashion, which makes us really excited because there is definitely a huge potential for Turkey to grow in this area.
One of our favourite magazines, Dazed and Confused teamed up with Mercedes-Benz to support Istanbul fashion week and covered the event on their website, introducing the world three of the upcoming designers in Turkey. Have a look at their videos and stories here. (more…)
