Kieran Sperring specializes in creating handmade collage art to fuel further interpretations and imaginations, using traditional cut and paste methods. He sources his images from magazines, particular from the 1950s/1960s.

You all know by now that we have a weak spot for beautiful collages and awkward images with stories. No wonder why we loved Sammy’s collages and illustrations so much. He renders dynamic collages, combining vintage photographs with contemporary compositional styles; plays with exaggeration and proportions and creates new worlds for us to look at and enjoy.

Berlin-based artist Jens Ullrich creates large-scale collages that make the careful elision between frozen-moment drama in sports photography and the inertia of classical looking sculptures. Have a look!

While visiting The Photographer’s Gallery in London, we were once again amazed by British artist John Stezaker. Stezaker’s collages examine our multi-faceted relationship to the image. By splicing together and collaging classic movie stills, vintage postcards and book illustrations, the British artist gives old images new meaning and examines the photograph as a documentation of truth.
